Nature Explorers is a free program with content aimed at preschoolers through 5th graders - though learners of all ages are always welcome! In the winter we meet every other Tuesday at the Foster Center at the south entrance of Diamond Lake Park. Lessons usually feature a story, discussion of science or nature topic and an activity or craft. The same program will be offered at 10 am and 1 pm, come to whichever works for your family's schedule.
"Amy will send out a text reminder and any pertininent information for the next day's program on Monday. For example "We plan to take a short walk, please bring winter layers" or "We'll be doing watercolors please wear old clothes!"
RSVPs are not required, but they are always appreciated!

About Poweshiek County
Located in east-central Iowa, Poweshiek County was established in 1843 and named for Meskwaki Chief Poweshiek, a chief of the Fox Indian people. The Courthouse, located in Montezuma, was completed in 1859. The County is home to eight communities and home to 18,662 residents.
The County is administered by a three-member Board of Supervisors who are elected for four-year terms. Other elected officials include the Attorney, Auditor, Recorder, Sheriff, and Treasurer.
